summertime...and the living is easy

Saint Fraimbault's very own knitting in public afternoon took place in the salon de thé on saturday 14th June, courtesy of Maylin and her knitatatsic buddies - and it was great fun. Even I managed to cast on a few stitches and have knitted 2 very odd but rather pretty little squares. Not sure what I'll do with them - but I'm sure Scarlet will find a use....Apart from that things are going ok - Scarlet's 9th birthday came and went - she had a posh meal out and was spoilt rotten....is spending the weekend chez mamie and papi to get spoiled some more...Just finished off with a large group of 4th-agers (as they call them). Lovely lovely people - the oldest was a 96 year old lady, and boy was she rocking. They had a 4 course slap up lunch and have gone off to the plan d'eau to dance their socks off. Soup, yoghurt and early bed tonight with strict regime tomorrow, but today is the fete de la musique and the first day of summer - so party on folks.

secret squirrels

photo shoot this afternoon au papillon for the cookery booklet that is due out in the Autumn..Gregoire surprised the photographer and co-author by thinking of a mise en scene for each piccie. I was teaching, as per.....still having fun, S. is a great student. And bonus - today I avoided minor collisions with juggernauts. The driver of the 38 tonner was very friendly yesterday considering I had just reversed into him, despite the fact that the truck was bright yellow, very very big and he was beeping as loudly and as frantically as possible. I was looking the other way ok?! Just a slight error..no damage and much laughter. Hey ho. Right off to set up for ce soir...2 tables booked, and I have a Familles Rurales meeting too......
