les papillon s'envolent

friday 1st May and Scarlet and Rachel head south - the old citroen XM packed to almost bursting point, the big lorry has left St F (almost bursting too) heading south to Chateauneuf Grasse. A new life awaits us ...very excitied, bit nervous too.....11 hours of motorway ahead of us, and then what...? We continue with our butterfly's dream - as considered by Zhuang Zhi - that will mould our future concept of reality, identity and eventual history

The papillons take flight

Everything is packed up and ready to go. Grégoire is now completely and utterly into his new job as Executive Head Chef at le Nid d'Aigle in Gourdon. We have (enfin) found somewhere to live (a little tiny house with a weeny garden next to a rose plantation near Grasse) and will soon have a genuine PACA postcode. I have to start totally rethinking my wardrobe - I mean what does one wear in Cannes and Antibes in springtime? And will I have the right shoes? Scarlet is enrolled in a new school where she will do theatre and sailing and ski-ing and the like. We head south on April 30th ....and say goodbye to Papillon and St Fraimbault for good. End of another chapter in lives...11 years in Normandy draw to a close, and our new adventure in les Alpes Maritimes begins.
