la rentree approaches

almost the end of les grandes vacances. 12 years in France and I'm still not used to this idea of everybody going on holiday in July and August. I am now off work for 2 weeks (quel bliss)yet still object somewhere in the back of my mind to HAVING to take time off at the same time as everyone else! Its the old rebellious streak - I just don't want to do what everyone else does. A permanent teenager is what I am :)
The child and I shall take a trip to la belle normandie this coming week and see if we can't do abit of travelling further afield - if not it'll be trips to Bristol, Amsterdam, Yorkshire and maybe Miami in November and January instead....
weather is hot, hot, hot and yummily lovely - the days are long and lazy, the mosquitoes are out in force, along with the cicadas.....
